AOS 2010 Poster Abstract Submission Guidelines
Abstract submission
- Authors are permitted to submit more than one abstract.
- Abstracts should be proofread for accuracy before submission.
- Abstracts should be submitted as a MS Word file using the AOS poster abstract submission form to aos@elsevier.com.
- Abstracts submitted in any other format other than stated above will not be considered.
- The closing date for submission is Thursday, 31 December 2009..

Abstract format
- Abstracts should be in English, contain no more than 350 words, and be structured around the subheadings: Background, Methods, Findings, Interpretation, and Funding.
- Each abstract should also include a brief title. Abbreviations should be kept to a minimum and defined after first use. Tables, figures, and references are not allowed.
- Abstract title, name and address of all authors, contact details, conflicts of interest declarations, and descriptions of the funding source(s) do not count towards the word limit.
Listing of authors
- Full name, affiliation(s) and complete mailing address of all authors should be provided.
- The name and address of the presenting author and the corresponding author during the selection stage should be underlined, together with their email and telephone contact details.
- All authors should disclose any financial or personal relationships with individuals or organisations that could be perceived to bias their work. All sources of funding should also be declared.
Selection process
- The AOS scientific committee will review submitted abstracts and revert with a decision by Friday, 8 January 2010.
- Authors of selected abstracts will be notified by email in mid January 2010. Each author will only be allowed to present a maximum of 2 posters at AOS.
- Presentation of posters at AOS and inclusion in the abstract book must be accompanied by confirmation of registration from any of the authors. Abstracts received after the closing date of Thursday, 31 December 2009 will not be considered for the Editor’s Choice poster awards
